Food in Sioux City was shit. First of all there is nowhere to go and all the places we decided to go to were average at best, horrible at worst. Green Gables, a restaurant that is touted as the oldest surviving restaurant in Sioux City, is sadly nothing more than a glorified Denny’s. Kahill’s Steakhouse at the Marina Inn and what seems to literally be the Republican Headquarters of the Siouxland, Luciano’s, both had the prices of a more mid-priced upscale restaurant but neither rose above being anything but serviceable.
All this being said, practically the moment I stepped foot in Sioux City I was hearing about the Coney Island. The Coney Island, as I was to learn, is simple bite sized hot dog not unlike a chili dog. A once boom town marred by the rise and fall of the cattle industry, admittedly, I expected Sioux City to devoid of much to do. With the two best hotels in town competing with rates rounding about 79 dollars and a lack of information in regards to places to eat, I imagined a lifeless city. The drive into town immediately proved otherwise – lined with bars, Historic 4th Street, which is main drag leading into downtown, was akin to that of a main street in a college town.
More surprising though was finding two buildings that were some of most profound examples of their respective architectural styles, especially in the case of the the Woodbury Courthouse, that I have seen.

We can talk mission statements all day.
For the inaugural post, I thought I would let the content give you an idea of the type journey we are going to be sharing together. Now that we have a relationship, one that may be filled with its shares of ups and downs (sure I hit you, but do you really want someone that doesn’t care about you? Do you!), I feel it’s necessary to softly bring you in. I don’t want to move too fast, we need to be gradual about this as to not scare you away (this is something I learned from the really cool pick-up artist Mystery, something which I had no prior concept of. Who knew you just stood to the side of someone? Amazing!).
