Sioux City, Iowa: An Inaugural Post

Welcome to Sioux City

We can talk mission statements all day.

For the inaugural post, I thought I would let the content give you an idea of the type journey we are going to be sharing together. Now that we have a relationship, one that may be filled with its shares of ups and downs (sure I hit you, but do you really want someone that doesn’t care about you? Do you!), I feel it’s necessary to softly bring you in. I don’t want to move too fast, we need to be gradual about this as to not scare you away (this is something I learned from the really cool pick-up artist Mystery, something which I had no prior concept of. Who knew you just stood to the side of someone? Amazing!).

So why Sioux City, Iowa? One of the goals under the expansive canopy of the “Wandrlust Goal Tree” is to shed light on places or subjects (what I sometimes refer to as “nouns”) that fly under the radar. We here at Wandrlust realize that many times vacation isn’t by choice (for ex. my visit to Sioux City was funeral based) and decisions are often times, unfortunately, made by convenience not desire. So whether you’re interested in visiting, live in (as many Sioux Citians I spoke with had not been to places I had, even those who were born and raised, which is not uncommon in most places), or have to be in Sioux City, here at Wandrlust, you will find the most exciting points of interest in one concentrated place.

As with most articles that will be found on this site there will be items that are interesting but do not merit entire write-ups, which this post is representative of. Most of these will be found in corresponding galleries in the photo section; some with comments and links. Even the articles will be expanded on in galleries which will present more images than the more highlight oriented articles.

The Sioux City Collection, covers not only Sioux City but the towns of Missouri Valley, Hinton, Le Mars, (the ice cream capital of the world?), and Cherokee, IA and their various points of interest, in an easy to browse format.

The articles, which are the focus of this site, will follow as they come.

Now that things are becoming clear I present to you The Sioux City Collection.
